Getting your license back
A reinstalled Mac, a new machine, or a Keychain that did not survive a migration should not cost you a support ticket. Recovery is self-serve: you give the email address you bought with, and a short-lived link returns the entitlement.

What recovery actually does.
- A short-lived email link
- Purchase recovery uses a magic link sent to the address on the purchase. There is no password, because there is no account to have a password for.
- It re-issues, it does not re-charge
- The activation service re-issues the same signed offline entitlement into your Keychain. Your existing copy keeps working throughout, because offline verification does not depend on the service.
- Free mode keeps recovery
- Recovery stays available whether or not you have bought: it is one of the four things — with setup, the live meter and updates — that a free-mode installation keeps forever.
- A refunded purchase stops recovering
- A refund updates the server-side license state and stops future recovery. It does not reach into a copy that is already activated.

What to do right now.
Not yet · recovery opens with the first release
The recovery endpoint goes live with the first release, at the same time as checkout. There is nothing to recover before then, because nothing has been sold. Rather than link you to an address that answers nothing, this page names the interim path: email [email protected] and a person will sort it out.
If you are within 30 days and would rather have the money back than the license, the refund policy covers that instead.
